Eleven Eight is more than a moniker, it is a way of being. The Eleven Eight state of mind is always staying true to who you are and who you have always been. It is never letting go of ideas and dreams, instead it is holding on to what really makes you you. It’s being honest, asking questions and challenging what you sense isn’t right. It is always keeping your wits about you. The Eleven Eight way is doing things your own way yet respecting traditions and always remembering how you got where you are. 

 

My father, Jay Hartigan, is a location sound mixer who taught me everything he knows from the history of sound recording, the whys of wireless communication and how to conduct myself on a job. Growing up, I frequently went on shoots with him riding on cases of equipment in the back of the van. 

As a musician, I started recording my own songs on a Teac reel to reel. That led to building a small basement recording studio in high school recording bands from the tri-state area. At the age of 18, I began working on professional sound jobs and at 21 I took a permalance job doing audio post mixing for popular television shows. 

At the age of 22, I took a full time job at NFL Films as a location sound mixer traveling the globe working on their myriad of productions. With the NFL I won 4 Emmy Awards. I left there in 2011 to start my own full service sound mixing company and have since won 2 more Emmys for Showtime's All Access.
